Infants and children are brought into the Family of God through the Sacrament of Baptism. The pre-Jordan class prepares parents and godparents for the baptism of the infant or child by instructing them in the fundamental aspects of Baptism and enlightening them about the important role they play as the primary teachers of their children in the ways of the faith. The one-session class is held by the priest and parents are expected to attend as they prepare for their child’s baptism; godparents are encouraged to attend as well.
