“St. Francis taught us that we should not approach God only to ask. That makes the Lord, who has given us everything, to suffer. Giving thanks is a duty of justice to whom has given us something, and therefore it is even a greater duty to He who has given us everything, God.” (Fr. Santiago Martin, FM. Founder of the Franciscans of Mary.)
Schools of Gratitude are groups of people that get together with the purpose of learning through catechism to give thanks to God and, by doing this, to grow in their relationship with Him. They receive, in union with all the groups around the world, continual formation and purposes to live and practice every week.
Every week, a reflection of the Gospel and catechesis are presented to each member, and a purpose to practice throughout the week. Then, the next meeting, we share our experience about how we lived the purpose. By sharing our experiences, we can help each other, and learn from other’s experiences to grow in faith within the community.
We finish each meeting by praying the Franciscan of Mary prayer to Jesus:
“Jesus I trust in you. Jesus I love you. Jesus I adore you. Jesus I give you thanks. Jesus I ask for your help. Jesus I offer myself to you, like Mary.”
Everyone in the Parish are invited to be part of our schools of gratitude.
