Go to the Book Club's page to find the reading schedule for our Fall book: "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. All are welcome! St. Jerome said, "Always keep holy books in your hands that it may nourish your soul by devout reading." St. John Bosco said, "Only God knows the good that can come about by reading one good Catholic book." St. Alphonsus Liguori said, "Without good books and spiritual reading, it will be morally impossible to save our souls." We are listening to the saints and are starting a book club to help us fill our minds with holy things. Come answer the saints' invitation to read good Catholic books!
We are starting a new Scripture study program for anyone ages 14-100+. The program will be called "Living Word Scripture Study" and this Fall, for our first study, we will be doing the Ascension Press program, "UNLOCKING THE MYSTERIES OF THE BIBLE" (click the photo to see a video about the study). Many Catholics want to read the Bible but get bogged down by the long stretches that seem not to make sense or get lost among the sea of Old Testament names and places. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible, an eight-part Bible study, helps you uncover the story woven throughout Scripture, so you can get the “big picture” of the Bible and understand what it’s all about. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible will help you pick up the Bible with confidence and understand how you fit into God’s plan. We will begin this Scripture study on Thursday, Sept. 28th at 7pm. Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. For more information, contact Ginny Swiatek at [email protected] or call her at 610-679-5184.
We are excited to welcome you back to Our Lady of the Rosary Craft Show to be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:00am until 2:00pm located at 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville. To register for a table click on the link below: https://forms.parishgiving.org/form-6456148/craft-show
The Pastoral Council has been meeting for several months now and is proud to announce that they crafted a new Mission Statement for Our Lady of the Rosary Parish! You can find this new Mission Statement at the bottom of the website's homepage. It will soon be printed and placed in the hallway outside of Romano Hall for all to see, also. Here it is: "We are a diverse Roman Catholic Community, driven by a desire to grow in holiness, faith, and to live out the Gospel. Through the Sacraments, and the intercession and example of our Blessed Mother, we strive in gratitude to build a relationship with Jesus and each other."
Our Grace Notes Choir did a great job leading the parish in prayerful songs on Sunday! If you know a child in 1st-8th grade who loves to sing, invite them to join us at rehearsal on every Thursdays at 7pm in the church.
Congratulation to all the students, family members and teachers of Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School for been recognized as an Archdiocesan School of Distinguished Instruction in the area of Exceeding Potential.
